Christian is a talented young player with strong leadership qualities. A recent Sir Edmund Hillary Scholar at the University of Waikato and he has led his club sides as skipper despite relative lack of age and experience.

In 2014, he was captain of the Sacred Heart First XV, a prefect and part of the school’s rowing team. He was named the First XV Player of the Year and also selected for the New Zealand Schools’ team. Christian has continued to excel since leaving school having represent both the Waikato under 19 and Waikato Development team in 2017, a side he also captained and was named Player of the Year.

More recently, he has captained his club sides Hamilton Marist and Ardmore Marist in 2018 and 2019 respectively. He has also been involved with the Counties Manukau Mitre 10 cup team in 2019. As a player he has an industrious work rate, is strong in defence both tackling and over the ball. He is used to playing an open game and possess all the skills required by a modern loose forward.
